A modern sign language learning platform, designed to make education more accessible, engaging, and scalable.
Sign With Us pairs a learning management system with a marketing site, built around one goal: making sign language education easier to reach, easier to stick with, and ready to grow. Accessibility wasn't a checklist added at the end — it shaped the interface from the ground up, designed with WCAG guidelines and the needs of D/deaf and hard-of-hearing learners in mind.
Despite growing demand for inclusive communication, sign language education stays hard to reach for most people. Existing resources tend to be unstructured and inconsistent, expensive or limited, poorly designed for engagement, not built for mobile learning, and missing any real progress tracking or motivation.
On top of that, organizations and institutions often have no clear way to tell whether their own environments are genuinely accessible for people with disabilities.
Sign With Us was designed as a modern learning ecosystem built from two connected products.
As the sole designer working with two developers, I handled UX strategy and product planning, user flows and information architecture, wireframing and prototyping, UI design and responsive layouts, and the design system itself.
Friendly and welcoming, clean and modern, educational and calm, app-like and structured, accessible and readable — the goal throughout was to reduce cognitive load and make learning feel effortless.
Treated as a core requirement and aligned with WCAG-inspired principles: strong color contrast, large tap targets across mobile and web, clear hierarchy and spacing, predictable navigation, short lesson segmentation to reduce overload, and planning for captions, transcripts, and screen-reader support.
Balancing simplicity with scalability — staying simple for beginners while still supporting future growth. Supporting multiple audiences — learners, donors, and organizations each needed their own entry point without cluttering the interface. Creating clear upgrade value — the Pro tier had to feel worthwhile without making free users feel shut out.
Modular UI components built for scalability, a clear content hierarchy with simplified navigation, progressive feature unlocking from free to pro, repeated CTAs on the landing page to support conversion, and one unified system spanning both the website and the LMS.
